StuffWeLike.com Crazy Web Review of Terminator

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

That crazy dude at StuffWeLike.com made another great video review of a recent DVD release. This time around it’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. I don’t even like the series, but this video is total bad ass!

Aardman and Channel 4 Tap 4mations

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Brit pubcaster Channel 4 has teamed up with Aardman Animation and Lupus Films to create a new animation video site called 4mations. Designed to be like a YouTube for animators, this site differentiates itself from YouTube in the following ways:

  • Watch Channel 4 animation classics
  • Upload your movies & games for cash rewards
  • pitch for paid commissions
  • View, vote, embed, share & comment…
  • …and maybe even get on the telly.
  • Basically 4mations has built in an incentive program to get animators to post their works here. Of course animators may not love the idea of how this affects the ownership of their works and properties. Nevertheless, the idea to have a chance for Aardman to develop a show or series is an enticing opportunity.

Let me know what you think.

Jamie Caliri’s new United spot “Heart” for DUCK

    Monday, August 11th, 2008

Award-winning and California-based director Jamie Caliri’s latest spot for United Airlines is now up on YouTube. I’ve posted it below for everyone, so take a look. You might remember Caliri’s Superbowl commercial for DUCK in 2006 titled “Dragon.” I’m a huge fan! He’s a great guy and does terrific work. The United spot below is titled “heart” and is pretty self explanatory. As always, it’s set to the Gershwin sounds of “Rhapsody in Blue.” In the spot, a woman is traveling to present at an architectural conference. Her loved one stays behind and she leaves him with her heart. When she returns thanks to United, he gives her back her heart and it fills in the void.

DUCK launches new spot and characters for COX

    Sunday, June 15th, 2008

Our talented duo of animation directors Lane & Jan completed a great new spot for COX Communications called “POD.” You can check it out below. If you don’t have COX in your area, it’s actually the third largest cable TV provider in the US. Lane & Jan created these very sleek, cool new characters called The Digis who will be the face for COX’s new campaign. “POD” is part of 4 spots that DUCK has created for COX. The other three which are a mix of live-action and animation will premiere throughout the rest of the summer. Kudos to Lane & Jan for another job well done! I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!

    DUCK on Youtube

    Monday, April 21st, 2008

Ever been cold, hungry, and tired of eating the same old thing? That’s just the complaint that “TDO,” our chili dog hero had before it becomes clear he’s going to be new menu item! Directed by the Docter Twins with animation by Lane & Jan. The spot’s for the latest campaign for Wienerschnitzel, and boy are their hotdogs taste-EE!
