The last few months have been ripe with witty and clever political cartoons. The Boston Globe has done a great job in their Ink Tank section of highlighting 15 of the top ones from around the country today on Election Day. Below are two of my favorites.
If you haven’t already voted and you are a registered voter, step away from the computer and GO VOTE!
Everyone has been buzzing around the office about the election. Although we try to keep our politics away from the office, as with most offices, sometimes politics creep in. But the most important thing is to go out and vote!
I waited in a line a good 80 minutes this morning in beautiful Palms, California about 2 miles from DUCK. The weather’s great! I had a blast. I can’t wait to go home tonight and have a SuperBowl style party to watch the results and hope that the counting in swing states is legitimate.
You also get free food at Krispy Kreme, Shane’s Ribs, Starbucks, and Ben & Jerrys’ today if you walk in wearing your “I Voted” sticker.
If you haven’t already seen it on CNN, Family Guy took a jab a McCain and Palin in this past weekend’s episode. In the scene below, Stewie and Brian knock out some Nazi guards to disguise themselves. And… well, just watch the clip….
I think it’s lame that some conservatives are getting bent out of shape over this jab at McCain. You’re watching Family Guy after all! The show is irreverent and witty, and it has been making fun of everyone and everything for years now.
Moreover, Stewie never actually says the word McCain. He does not say, “McCain’s a Nazi.” It’s unfair for someone to get upset over this implication in Family Guy if that same person is not also upset by Gov. Palin’s impications of Sen. Obama as a socialist (and a terrorist). After all, Family Guy is just a sataric cartoon. Gov. Palin is a VP-candidate.
It’s the end of the world! The economy is doomed! ATMs will have no money left to spit out. Take your money from the banks and stuff your mattresses! Congress has no idea how to solve the problem. The Street hit the panic button today!

I for one have decided to invest in the one commodity never affected by financial crises. Bubble gum. That’s right. Good ole American bazooka! Trust in gum and you won’t go wrong! As our founding fathers said, “In gum we trust!” It was the neoliberals who changed “gum” to “God.” Go figure!
But in all seriousness, now’s not the time to panic. You have to wonder whether the McCain camp will take a significant beating in the polls for the utter obliteration of our economy under the Bush administration.
